Mosquitoes can transmit dangerous viruses such as West Nile and Eastern Equine Encephalitis also known as “Triple E" and ticks can carry Lyme Disease, Babesiosis, and Anaplasmosis. Ticks and mosquito-borne illnesses can be very severe and that is why it's important to take preventative methods. 

There are a few simple things you can do in your yard to reduce the number of mosquitoes and ticks including removing all free-standing water in birdbaths, wheelbarrows, gutters and pool covers, keeping your grass mowed and clearing all leaves and debris.
